Data centre power loss
Saturday 1st November 2025 11:57:00

The data centre lost power following routine generator maintenance. Unfortunately the UPS failed to carry the load during transition. Technicians are inbound to the data centre to assist with rebooting servers.

Update: Technicians are on site and working through rebooting and checking all systems.

A UPS technician is also on site testing the UPS and batteries.

UPS technician has rebalanced one string of batteries and new batteries have been ordered. All services have been restored.

Half of the new batteries will be delivered and installed tomorrow (Tuesday 4th November). The remaining batteries will be delivered and installed next week.

New batteries have been delivered and are in the process of being installed.

One new battery string has been successfully installed. The second string is due to be delivered on Friday 14th November.

The second battery delivery has been delayed until next week, we will update once these have arrived.

The second string of new batteries is being installed now. There may be a period of charging required before we can commence testing.

We are now running with two brand new strings of 100Ah batteries which has boosted our theoretical run time by two thirds. We are waiting on our UPS supplier to provide guidance on recalculating the actual run time before we begin any testing.

The UPS runtime has been recalculated, currently pending UPS technicians to perform a controlled load test.
